MYOB Exo System Requirements

Server Requirements

A server is not necessary if the MYOB Exo System is to be installed on a single machine (Standalone). In the case of a standalone installation, the system is installed on the local hard drive, and the workstation requirements come into play.

Here are the server requirements, without considering the terminal server:

• Pentium IV, 2.4 GHz or superior processing seed. For the server, a dual-core processor is recommended.
• 2 GB RAM minimum, but 4 GB RAM is recommended.
• A minimum of 20 GB of Hard disk space to allow for users, applications, and backups. A 30 GB SCSI hard disk is
  recommended for most businesses.

Windows Terminal Server Requirements

For a server that connects to multiple client systems, a 2 x Pentium IV 2.2 GHz is the minimum processor requirement. The windows terminal server also requires a base of 2 GB and an additional 100 MB for every user.

For the hard disk requirements, an SCSI hard drive of 20 GB is the bare minimum requirement.

Workstation Requirements

Client workstations running the MYOB Exo system should meet the following minimum requirements:

• A Core 2 Duo processor
• 2 GB RAM
• 10 GB of hard disk space

Standalone Requirements

With the client and server installed on the same machine, the requirements are similar to those of workstations, except that 40 GB hard disk space is required.

Memory Requirements

The RAM plays a great role in the speed of your software. The higher the RAM, the better the performance of the software. RAM requirements vary depending on the package of the software being installed.

As earlier highlighted, most of these packages require a minimum of 2 GB RAM.

Printer Requirements

For the printing needs of a business, your machine needs to have printer drivers to support most printer devices. While laser printers are recommended, the MYOB Exo software operates with most printers in the market, provided the operating system supports them.

For the best printing experience, users should stick to true type fonts. Machines that use postscript fonts may not produce the desired results as MYOB expo doesn’t support such fonts.

Network Connectivity Requirements

For machines operating on a network, the network cabling should at least be of UTP Category 5e for the best connectivity. For LAN connections, 1 GBps switches and network cards are recommended for seamless operation.

Anti-virus Requirements

It is essential to protect your software from any virus infection. However, the anti-virus chosen should not weigh down the performance of other software and the network.

It is important to ensure that the anti-virus is installed on the workstation and server to scan incoming and outgoing files. Excluding the MYOB application, executable files from the scan list is also recommended for improved performance.
